2023 Canewater Crew

Nathan Garber will be returning to Canewater for his 3rd season; this time as the new Crew Manager. He has enjoyed living and developing a community in the area for the past 3 years and is excited to continue growing food for those around him. Nathan has a strong passion for small scale, organic agriculture and wants to continue building his skills and knowledge as well as teach others.

Knox Van Zandt: We are graced with Knox's (and Delta's) presence on the farm between river trips and ski tours.  One day, we will be dialed in enough to join him on these adventures.  Knox keeps the machinery and infrastructure up and running.  Ansley thinks Knox and Rafe stand around talking more than working.  But she doesn't realize the infrastructure dreams they are cultivating.  They also like to discuss the weather.  Knox makes sure we all wait until 5 pm to drink a beer.

Catherine Tillis is an Ohio native living in the Tetons for the first time this growing season. She is interested in botany, local food systems, and small-scale diversified agriculture. With hopes of learning the trade of organic farming, Catherine is excited to be joining the Canewater crew and getting to explore Idaho this summer!

Nora O’Connor grew up in upstate NY and went on to study Outdoor Education in NH. She has made a point to experience much of the US through various outdoor education work, farming, travel and exploring mountains and trails. A great passion of Nora’s lies in the impacts that nature, movement and experiential education has on the mental health of communities.

Josh Henry IT Director

Julie Abbott is a godsend to the farm.  You will see her friendly face every Friday at the Driggs Farmers Market.  Most importantly, our kids love her, and she is the greatest nordic ski coach in all of Tetonia!

2022 Canewater Crew

Zena Wolcott-MacCausland: Zena joined the Canewater Farm crew in 2020 and is excited to return for the 2022 growing season as Canewater Farm Manager. She grew up on a small dairy farm in northern Vermont where she learned first hand about land stewardship, growing food and the importance of community. Zena finds incredible joy in growing food and flowers for her friends, neighbors and local community. She lives at the farm with her partner, Pat and aging dog, Kaycee.

Molly Belk: Molly is joining us at Canewater for her fifth season growing organic vegetables. Growing food and feeding people is important to Molly. She aspires to make fresh produce available for everyone. Molly has lived in the Tetons for several years, but is most recently returning from a year of farming in the southeast. She is looking forward to joining the Canewater crew and soaking in the beauty of the land and people around her.

Jonathan Constable: Jonathan fostered his love for gardening and the natural world in the Appalachian oak forests of southeastern Pennsylvania. He spent the past few years working to further raptor conservation at the Teton Raptor Center, and is looking forward to exploring new means of land stewardship through organic farming. He enjoys birdwatching, running, and meandering aimlessly in the woods during his free time.

Corinne La Bella: Corinne moved to Teton Valley this winter from her hometown of McCall, Idaho. After spending most of 2021 helping build an earthen home with her mom she is excited to learn about growing food while continuing to work closely with the land. She looks forward to exploring all the beauty and magic the valley has to offer and hopes to spend as much time on her bike as possible.

Nathan Garber: Nathan joined the crew in 2020 and is excited to return to Canewater for his second season after a brief hiatus of farming back in his hometown of Virginia.  He has lived out West on and off for the last few years enjoying all things outdoors. He has developed a passion for the benefits and lifestyle of regenerative organic agriculture and hopes to continue building his knowledge during this growing season.

Gabe Hurcomb: I am from Colorado Springs, CO, and am currently an architecture student at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Being from Colorado, I love to fly-fish and camp, so I am excited to be able to explore all the Tetons have to offer. I have a passion for agriculture and am looking forward to learning more while working at Canewater farm.

Knox Van Zandt: Works so much he now gets to run the grill at the company bbqs.

Jonathan Hume: The man, the myth, the legend

Taylor Bones: Saturday Market Fairy

Carina Carr-Stevenson: Carina is moving to Jackson from Bellingham, Washington. She and her husband spent the past few months in San Diego learning more woodworking and building projects for friends' houses (their pup, Summit, did a lot of encouraging in this area). She is thrilled about getting into the mountains of the Tetons to improve her climbing, backpacking, and any other adventures that are introduced to her. Ready to get her hands dirty in the fields of Canewater!!

Sarah Swirbul: Sarah has spent the past several years traveling around the West before recently settling in Jackson. She is an avid skier during the winter months and hopes to spend the summers continuing to learn all that she can about growing organic produce. Sarah also volunteers for a local non-profit focused on reducing food waste and is excited to see how both organizations overlap this season.

Florence Parsley: Florence is moving to the Teton Valley from Whitefish, MT where she has farmed for 3 years and has grown a passion for regenerative agriculture. After growing up in Florida and going to college in Virginia she decided to head west for something new and has fully embraced the mountain lifestyle through trail running, backpacking and skiing. Hopeful to start her own farm, Florence is excited to work at Canewater and continue building her skills and knowledge for growing nutritious food for her community.

Nathan Garber recently moved from Colorado, but originally from VA where I grew up, went to business school and became obsessed with sustainable agriculture somewhere along the way. Jack of all trades (but definitely a master of none) and a lover of all things outdoors including but not limited to hiking, biking, snowboarding, climbing and dirt biking."

Zena Wolcott-MacCausland: Zena, Pat and Kayce were here when Canewater Farm moved to Victor.  Zena works on the farm crew and specializes in growing cut flowers for the Canewater market stand.  When she is not helping in the fields, she works for Friends of the Teton River, a local nonprofit.  Pat consumes tomatoes.

Knox Van Zandt: A wise man once said, "Knox likes to work just enough to get invited to the company barbeques."  Knox takes care of all building projects and finds ways for us to be efficient here at the farm.  He has been known to drink PBR.  He is family and always appreciated.

Rebecca Bredehoft-3375.jpg

Becca Bredehoft: Becca has been living in Jackson on and off for the past 15 years. She has traveled extensively working as a tandem paragliding instructor, river guide, and outdoor photographer. She is excited to learn more about sustainable agriculture this season and put down some roots in Teton Valley
